Prime Minister Maia Sandu, co-president of the bloc ACUM, urges Chisinau to vote on November 3, in the second round of local elections, and believes that if the pro-European forces do not win these elections, the changes started by the new government might suffer.
„You have put down Plahotniuc’s regime. You protested in the rain, snow, heat and defended the freedom of your nation. You voted, despite threats, long distances, fear. You were resilient. You have supported the creation of a democratic and European Government. It was a long and tiring road, but we haven’t reached the end yet. We need to remain united. It will take a lot of patience and involvement, but your vote is needed in Chisinau”, stated Maia Sandu.
Sandu argues that it is important for the pro-European forces to win the elections so that the Government can continue the reforms it initiated, and the City Hall would be able to finally initiate real reforms.
„We must remain strong and stay together in order to achieve the reform of justice and build a real state. It is important for us to win the elections in Chisinau so that the effects of our initiated changes can reach every citizen of the country. If we lose the city, we risk losing everything we started. With you, together, we will win the city and change will be irreversible. The position of Prime Minister is temporary, but I will always remain a citizen of Chisinau. That is why, like you, I want to have a capital for the people”, said Maia Sandu.
