The vice president of the Moldovan Parliament, Alexandru Slusari, asks the Executive Body to annul a decision taken by the Filip Government in February 2019, that included the lease of 10 hectares of agricultural land on the capital’s Grenoble street to economic agents for the construction of an agro-industrial and agro-tourism complex. Moreover, Slusari forwarded two requests to the General Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anticorruption Center, requesting the examination of the carried out transactions.
According to the deputy, the trees have already been cleared on this land and a construction with agricultural purposes is being prepared. This is based on a decision taken by the Filip Government on the 27th of February in 2019, a decision that the MP calls „suspicious”.
„The Government’s decision was taken 3 days after the parliamentary elections. The decision was presented by Vladimir Boldovici, the former head of the Public Property Agency, and countersigned by Ion Chinu, former Minister of Finance. However, it had to be countersigned by the Minister of Economy, not the Minister of Finance”, said Slusari.
According to the Government’s decision, 5 ha, 2.7 ha and 2.5 ha of land were leased to the „Grand Oil” companies, where one of the founders was „Finpar Invest”, a company owned by the former PDM leader, Vladimir Plahotniuc.
Slusari also states that it is not the Government’s job to lease the public property’s lands, but it is the responsibility of the Public Property Agency. Furthermore, the MP adds that the Law regarding leasing in agriculture stipulates that the leasing of agricultural lands can only be done via a public tender.
Slusari announces that he sent a request addressing the Government in which he demands the revisiting of the decision taken on February 27th, and he also sent other two requests to the National Anticorruption Center and to the General Prosecutor’s Office, in which he is asking for the examination of the carried out transactions.
