Klaus Iohannis remains the President of Romania; The high score he obtained at the elections in Moldova
Klaus Iohannis remains the President of Romania after he won the elections on Sunday, 24th of November, against his opponent, Viorica Dancila.
Iohannis obtained a score of 63.17% from the citizens of Romania, and over 93% from the diaspora. In the general vote, Iohannis obtained a score of over 66%, compared to the 33% of the votes of his opponent.
Iohannis’ victory was rocketing in the polling stations of the Republic of Moldova as well, where he obtained 96.4% of the votes, against the 3.6% score of Viorica Dancila.
Nearly 10.1 million Romanians voted at the elections held on Sunday, of which 9.1 million people from Romania and 944 thousand from the diaspora. It broke an attendance record outside the country.
In the Republic of Moldova, 52.285 people voted, almost 10 thousand more than in the first round of elections.
