Igor Grosu: "Russian propaganda and lies are the biggest threat to the security of the Republic of Moldova"

Propaganda and lies are the main tools of criminals and the Russian Federation and constitute the number one danger to the security and future of the Republic of Moldova, said the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu. The Speaker warned that Russia is trying to use the autumn elections to spread disinformation and fake news in order to destabilize the country.
According to Grosu, Moscow, along with criminal groups, constantly uses two favorite "weapons": dirty money and lies.
"The fight we are waging against Kremlin propaganda is far from over. The autumn elections have become an additional reason for Russia to infiltrate lies, fake news and disinformation on a large scale to destabilize the situation in the country," explained the Speaker of Parliament.
In this context, Igor Grosu urged citizens to remain vigilant and to verify the sources of the information they consume.
"Do not be convinced by sensational headlines and do not take anything as absolute truth without confronting it with facts. Russian propaganda is a direct threat to democracy and the European path of the Republic of Moldova," added the PAS leader.
The statement comes in a context marked by geopolitical tensions and intensifying disinformation campaigns, amid the country's upcoming parliamentary elections. Grosu stressed that authorities and civil society must collaborate to counter external influence and protect the democratic process.
