Maia Sandu goes to Bucharest on Sunday: Meeting with Nicușor Dan and service at the National Cathedral

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, will pay a visit to Romania on Sunday, October 26. The head of state will participate in the Consecration Service of the painting of the National Cathedral in Bucharest, at the invitation of His Beatitude Father Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

During the visit, President Maia Sandu will have a meeting with the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan.

Thousands of believers will be present on Sunday at the consecration of the new cathedral in Bucharest. Patriarch Daniel and the Ecumenical Patriarch, together with bishops and priests, will consecrate the altar. The construction cost 270 million euros, of which approx. 10% was contributed by the BOR, writes romania.europalibera.org.

Believers from all over Romania, other than those invited and coming with their priests from dioceses across the country, will be able to enter the National Cathedral, including the Holy Altar, starting Sunday evening, at 20:00 PM.

Those with official invitations can worship at the altar immediately after the Consecration Liturgy. It begins at 10:00 AM.

It is expected that, within a week, the number of pilgrims to the new cathedral will exceed 100.000.
