Volodymyr Zelensky and Marco Rubio discussed strengthening Ukraine's missile defense shield. Interceptors, ballistic missile warning and Starlink systems on the agenda of negotiations

Ukraine and the United States are discussing strengthening Kiev's ability to intercept Russian missiles and more quickly detect ballistic attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focusing on missile defense, the supply of interceptor missiles and improving early warning systems. The two also addressed the operation of the Starlink and Starshield systems, and the discussions are expected to continue.

According to Zelensky, one of the central topics of the conversation was strengthening Ukraine's missile defense, including by providing interceptor missiles necessary to counter Russian attacks.

Kiev and Washington also discussed improving early warning systems in the event of Russian ballistic missile launches, as well as the operation of the Starlink and Starshield systems.

"I am grateful for the willingness to help and the clear position. We agreed to discuss again soon to update the situation," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader also thanked the Americans who continue to support Ukraine and described the discussion with Marco Rubio as constructive.
